Shiatsu is a drug-free therapy that works through the body’s pressure points. Often described as “acupuncture with the fingertips”, it was founded by Tokujiro Namikoshi and is now practised around the world.
Taught by shiatsu professors
On 19 and 20 May 2017, Khoẻ Spa therapists – the team behind Chao Spa – joined an advanced course led by:
- Yutaka Homma – shiatsu professor at the Japan Shiatsu Institute and Academy
- Ikenaga Kyyoshi – principal of the Japanese shiatsu school in Canada
- Asada Hideo – principal of the Japanese shiatsu school in Mexico
- Lê Hùng – former director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine and chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Oriental Medicine Association
What our therapists learned
The professors shared advanced knowledge of pressure points and drug-free relief for modern aches – especially in the shoulders, neck and back.
With real passion for their craft, our therapists took in the secrets of shiatsu acupressure from the successors of Professor Namikoshi. We hope to bring this remarkable art to every guest, with precision and care.
